O. Matthew Adeyanju
Professor and Director, Department Chair of Social and Public Health
Dr. Matthew Adeyanju is a Professor and Director in the Department of Social and Public Health at Ohio University. He received his Bachelor of Science in Human Physiology and Pharmacology and his Master in Public Health from the University of Ibadan. Dr. Adeyanju earned his Certificate in Research, Population Education, Administration, and Communication from the University of Chicago and his PhD in Community Health Education, Safety Studies, Research Methods, and Statistics from the University of Illinois. He is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES).
Dr. Adeyanju’s interests are in the area of community and public health with emphasis in the areas of health behavior, epidemiology, descriptive and quantitative research analysis, grant writing, health care delivery systems, planning, implementation and evaluation of health programs, health administration, international health, cross-cultural perspectives and health implications. He is a member of the American Public Health Association (APHA) and the American Association for Health Education (AAHE), a fellow of the American School Health Association (FASFA), and nominee for the Ohio University’s CHHS Outstanding Teaching Award in 2001 and 2006 to 2008.
